Childress Fatal Car Crash

The Texas Department of Public Safety worked a fatal car crash in Childress, Sunday, September 18th.

DPS officials say a ford Expedition was traveling northwest on U.S. 287 when the U-Haul trailer it was pulling started to fishtail, causing the driver to lose control.

The vehicle and the trailer went into a skid and the SUV and both rolled over in the center median landing to rest on its side.

Fifty-seven-year-old Gladys Roath of Miami, Florida was pronounced dead at the scene, while a passenger 58-year-old Alan Roath suffered extensive injuries and was taken to the Childress Medical Center for treatment.

The crash is still under investigation.
