Canadian Woman Found Dead Identified

The Canadian woman found dead in her home under suspicious circumstances was identified.

Damaris Itzel Jara, 23, was found unresponsive in her bedroom at 7 a.m. Thursday when a family member went to wake her up.

The family called the Hemphill County Sheriff’s Office.

The cause of death is unknown, but Justice of the Peace Jay Moseley characterized the circumstances as suspicious.

Sheriff Brent Clapp contacted the Texas Rangers.

The victim’s body was sent to Lubbock for an autopsy and the investigation continues.
