BSA Reaches Milestone with Advanced Heart Procedure

BSA Health System recently reached a milestone with one of the area’s most advanced medical procedures.

The organization announced they performed their 200th Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement on June 10th.

This method is an alternative to open-heart surgery for patients diagnosed with aortic stenosis.

Using this approach the cardiologist inserts a catheter via a small cut in the upper leg through which a replacement aortic valve is transferred to the damaged area.
