Black History Month-C.T. Vivian

Cordy Tindell Vivian (1924-2020) was a monumental figure in the Civil Rights Movement for more than six decades.

Vivian started an educational program that helped more than 700 students in Alabama attend college on scholarships.

The program started out being called Vision and was later named Upward Bound, a national program to help disadvantaged students whose parents did not attend college or finish high school. finish high school and pursue higher education.

I personally can attest to the Upward Bound Program. I attended LaSalle University in Philadelphia, Pa. under it.

Thank you to C.T. Vivian for making my life easier, and providing me the chance to move forward.
