BHM-Bill Pickett

KGNC celebrates Black History Month.

Bill Pickett, a legendary cowboy from Taylor, Texas, was nicknamed the “Dusky Demon”,

He toured as a Bull-Dogger for over 25 years with the Miller Brothers 101 Ranch Wild West Show.

He invented the present-day rodeo steer wrestling event.

At times Pickett would bring down a steer with his teeth.

He was posthumously awarded and installed into the “Cowboy Hall of Fame” in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
