Amarillo City Charter Changes

The Amarillo City Council will be taking on the daunting task of re-writing the City Charter.

City Mayor Cole Stanley says it’s a big task but well worth it.

One of the problems is in meeting a scheduling deadline in August, in order to have it on the November ballot.

Mayor Stanley wants to start discussions now over the Charter changes, including public input.

It’s estimated the Charter change election could cost between 70 to 100 thousand dollars.
