SEMI TRUCK CRASH LEAVES ONE MAN DEAD

An auto wreck in Armstrong County on New Year’s Day, claimed the life of one man.on US 287, ten miles east of Claude.

The driver of a 2021 Volvo Tractor-Trailer, 58-year-old Amil Suljic of Fort Worth Texas, was following a Peterbilt Truck Tractor and was slowing down to make a right turn onto County Road 25 when the Volvo semi failed to keep his speed under control and struck the other truck’s towed trailer causing significant damage.

The Volvo landed on top of the Peterbilts trailer after the Peterbilt jackknifed and ended up partially in the roadway and a south ditch.

Suljic was pronounced dead by the Armstrong County Justice of the Peace, Janna Lemons.
