So you say you want to run for City Council?

Here’s how you can start… You can pick up your candidate packet from the city secretary’s office in room 303 at City Hall at 601 South Buchanan.

The packet has a whole combination of information and forms to help guide potential candidates through the election process.

All five city council seats will be on the May 6th ballot, and the city secretary will start taking applications on the ballot on January 18th the deadline is 5:00 p.m.February 17th.

Campaign treasurer appointments are the first step in the process and can be filed at any time.

The treasurer should be appointed before a citizen announces their intentions to run, receive campaign funds, and/or expand campaign funding.
