Xcel Statement Concerning Wildfires

Xcel Energy is facing lawsuits concerning the Smokehouse Fire in Stinnett.

The company has issued the following statements regarding the blaze that destroyed property.

Xcel has Been cooperating with with investigators and has been conducting its own review, and based on available information the company acknowledges that its facilities appear to have been involved in the start of the Smokehouse Creek Blaze.

The company disputes claims it acted negligently in maintaining and operating its infrastructure but is encouraging people who had property or livestock destroyed to submit a claim to Xcel

Xcel goes on to say that the Windy Deuce fire impacted many structures around the Fritch area, but does not think that its facilities caused the start of the fire and is not aware of any allegations that any company equipment caused the Windy Deuce blaze
