High Wind to Blame For Power Outages

High winds across the Panhandle are being blamed for numerous power outages.

Before 6:00 a.m. on Sunday morning, Xcel Energy reported 3,000 customers in the Texas Panhandle area were without power, and by 9:30 a.m. the Xcel power outage map reported the number had dropped to 700.

The power outage forced many schools to close on Monday, including those in the Happy Independent School District.
