Xcel Energy has named a new manager for Community and Economic Development For Borger and Dumas.

Samuel Reese will be taking over the position from Jesse Shuffield who is retiring after more than 42 years of service.

Reese has served as operations supervisor in Dumas since 2019, and he started with Xcel in 2010.

He holds a business management degree and has completed lineman training at Northwest Lineman College in Idaho.

In his new role, he’ll serve as liaison between Xcel and 13 city’s in the upper Panhandle like Borger, Dumas, Sunray, Skelltown and Dalhart.

He will also provide support for economic and community efforts in those 13 counties.
