WTAMU Gifted Gerdsen Family Centennial Ranch

West Texas A&M will be expanding some new land to be used as a new working ranch.

The 1,772 acre ranch is located near WT’s Nance Ranch and will be used as an education standpoint and have hands on training in agricultural technologies, practical ranch land management, plant science research and emerging technologies.

The Gerdsen Family Centennial Ranch was gifted to WT as part of the One West Campaign.

University officials say the ranch will be leased by the University and used for its new educational purposes beginning immediately.

Fredrick and Fredia Gerdsen settled in the United States after visiting the Texas Panhandle on their honeymoon, sailing to America from their home in Germany.
