WT to Debut Original Composition for Silent Movie

West Texas A&M will be screening a classic silent movie, complete with an original composition performed by the school orchestra.

WT will debut the piece, written by Dr. B.J. Brooks, alongside Charlie Chaplin’s “The Kid” on May 6th at 7:30pm in Mary Moody Northen Recital Hall located on the school’s campus.

To compose the original work Dr. Brooks said he watched the film without any soundtrack and improvised the piano work based on how Chaplin developed the characters.

Students will also be taking the show on the road for performances across the state, including shows in Dalhart, Mesquite and Houston.

All shows are free to the public, and for more information visit wtamu.edu.
