WT Receives Million Dollar Payment From Paul F. & Virginia J. Engler Foundation

Friday morning saw the continuation of a monumental move for West Texas A&M University.

University President, Dr. Walter Wendler, and others were present to receive a check for 1 million dollars, as a continuation of the historic 80 million dollar endowment given from the Paul F. and Virginia J. Engler Foundation. 

These payments will be given to the colleges of Agriculture and Natural Sciences and Business, named after the Engler’s. 

Dr. Wendler spoke more on the importance of this gift, and how it has helped students.

Talking with Dr. Paul Engler, he explains how the growth of the university will pay big dividends in the future.

Over the past five years of this partnership, The Engler College of Agriculture and Natural Sciences’ endowment has grown to more than $15 million, providing matching scholarship funds for about 70 students during the 2021-22 academic year. 

As for the College of Business, they have also seen immense growth in the form of the largest enrollment of any college at WT— 2,662 as of fall 2021.
