West Texas A&M University comes back from competing in the National Quiz bowl Contest at the Reciprocal Meat Conference in Des Moines, Iowa.

The Animal and Meat Science Department traveled with 12 students to compete in the Meat Science Quiz bowl competition as well as the Processed Meat Judging Event.

The Quiz bowl team competed against 50 other teams and made it to Round 8 out of 11.

The Processed Meats Competition had 4 high Individuals: 1st Carter Mortensen, 3rd Ambri Harrigal, 4th Mikayla Hudnall, and 9th Tessa Barrett.

WT Ag also had 3 graduate students compete in a research poster presentation with Travis Tilton receiving 3rd overall in his study of Beef Cattle and Salmonella.

The Agricultural Department had two individuals who received awards from American Science Meat Science (AMSA): Dr. Ty Lawerence with the AMSA Industry Award and Zachary McDonough with the Undergraduate Scholastic Award
