Wheeler County Drug Bust, Money Found

A large amount of cash was found under a car during a traffic stop in Wheeler County.

The discovery was made on Saturday.

A K-9 alerted on the odor of narcotics coming from the vehicle.

Deputies crawled under the car and found a black bag, containing a Ritz cracker box with a large amount of cash.

The Sheriff’s Department has determined the cash came from the sale and distribution of illegal drugs. 

Two people are under arrest, Christian Zaterian-Bueno and Erika Caniceros.

Bueno is charged with money laundering and, possession of a controlled substance as well as prohibited substance in a correctional facility. He was found with drugs on him after being taken to the Wheeler County Jail.

Caniceros is charged with money laundering.
