West Texas A&M Campus Police Investigating Sexual Assault

According to a press release issued Tuesday afternoon by WTAMU, campus police are investigating a sexual assault.

Per the release: On Tuesday, September 10, 2024, the University Police Department (UPD) received a report of a possible or attempted sexual assault that occurred in the late-night hours of September 8, 2024. The sexual assault was reported to have occurred on-campus in a residential facility while the victim was incapacitated by alcohol.

The incident is actively being investigated by UPD Detectives. Crime victim rights and options were provided, and the Title IX office was notified.
