Wellington Man Sentenced To 40 Years In Prison
A Wellington man will serve 40 years in prison for a first-degree felony offense of burglary and aggravated assault of a child.
Twenty-year-old Damien Ray Pina committed the offense in November of 2021 and was arrested by the Collingsworth County Sheriff’s Office.
The Judicial District Attorney says after Pina was indicted in February, he pleaded guilty on April 7th and was placed on community supervision with additional conditions related to sex offenders
The state filed a motion asking the court to referee Pina’s probation in June, due to six violations of probation.
The state says Pina failed to comply with sex offender registration requirements.
Pina is also ordered to pay a remaining 10-thousand-dollar fine, $376 in court costs, and $400 in attorney fees
