Free Agent Bryant Wants Cowboys Reunion

(Frisco, TX) — Former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant still has his eyes set on a reunion with the team. The free agent said as much on Twitter yesterday when asked who he plans to sign with. Bryant responded that he prefers to join the Cowboys, but will be ready to play somewhere else if he has to. Bryant has received interest from Baltimore and Cleveland, but hasn’t been on a team since Dallas let him go in April. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones previously ruled out re-signing Bryant.

Mavs In China; Jordan, Barnes, Nowitzki Stay Home

DeAndre Jordan did not make the trip as he deals with a death in the family. Harrison Barnes and Dirk Nowitzki also stayed behind as they deal with minor injuries. The Mavs face the Sixers on Friday in Shanghai and again on Monday in Shenzen.

Rockets Win Preseason Opener

(Birmingham, AL) — The Rockets are off to a winning start in the preseason as they beat the Memphis Grizzlies 131-115 last night in Birmingham. Chris Paul scored a team-high 22 points for Houston and James Harden put up 20. Carmelo Anthony scored 13 in his Rockets’ debut and Michael Carter-Williams added 19 off the bench. Houston returns home to host the Pacers tomorrow.
