Kyle Tucker scored the game-winning run on a throwing error by Oakland catcher Jonathan Lucroy. Alex Bregman hit a tapper in front of the plate and Lucroy’s throw to first hit Bregman’s helmet allowing the winning run to score. Bregman also homered twice and Collin McHugh picked up the win. Justin Verlander pitched six scoreless innings in a no-decision.

NFL Players Union Files Grievance Over League’s Anthem Policy
(New York, NY) — The NFL Players Association is filing a grievance with the league over its new policy regarding players standing for the National Anthem. The NFLPA claims the policy clashes with the league’s collective bargaining agreement and infringes on the rights of football players. The policy forbids players from sitting or kneeling during the Anthem, but does not require them to be on the field while the Anthem is being played. The union says the league has agreed to talks over the issue.
