Hornets To Hire Spurs’ Borrego As Next Head Coach

(Charlotte, NC) — The Charlotte Hornets are closing in on a deal to make San Antonio Spurs assistant James Borrego their next head coach. ESPN reports the Hornets chose Borrego after he made a strong impression in his interview with new president and general manager Mitch Kupchak. Borrego will replace Steve Clifford, who was let go after five seasons in Charlotte. The Hornets have missed the playoffs each of the last two seasons after posting consecutive 36-and-46 records.

Johnny Manziel Hospitalized In Houston

(Houston, TX) — Johnny Manziel is recovering in a Houston hospital after a bad reaction to an increased medication dosage. A statement from the former Texas A&M football star says the reaction resulted from an increase in his lithium dosage, which he takes to treat bipolar disorder. Manziel was reportedly playing at a golf tournament in Humble at the time. In his statement, Manziel thanks the hospital staff for taking good care of him.
