WTAMU Diversity in Journalism

An upcoming discussion at West Texas A and M University will focus on gender and racial diversity as well as the importance of news literacy.
The discussion will address the importance of having different perspectives in journalism.
Dr. Nancy Garcia , assistant professor of media communication and faculty advisor for the student newspaper”The Prarie” will present Diversity in Journalism, March 23rd in the Student Senate chamber in the Jack B. Kelley Student Center and on zoom. There will also be a panel discussion.
The discussion will also include the difficulty of the work-life balance, particularly among female journalists and how to help people understand how to get information, especially in times of increased polarization in the media
