Two Dead After Crash In Vega

Two people are dead following an early morning, three-vehicle crash in Vega on I-40 west.

At 7;30 a.m. Tuesday morning two tractor-trailers and a pick-up collided, leading to one of the tractor-trailers exploding into flames.

Texas Department of Public Safety sergeant Cindy Barkley says two deaths are confirmed, while two other people were taken to the hospital.

I-40 west of Vega was shut down near mile marker 29.

Barkley says eastbound and westbound traffic was diverted to the service road.
