USDA Explains Trade Aid Math

When USDA recently announced how much farmers would receive in “trade aid” payments, there was some controversy. While soybean farmers were largely pleased with their $1.65 per bushel allotment, there was a lot of unhappiness on the corn side where the relief being offered came to a penny a bushel.
