Officials with Potter and Hutchinson Counties have released updates on two grass fires that broke out in the area.

According to the Texas A&M Forest Service Incident Viewer, the Bent Willow Fire in Potter County has spread to over 8,000 acres and is now 50% contained.

All traffic lanes on US 287 have reopened and the evacuation has been cleared, but travelers are still advised to be careful as crews continue trying to contain the blaze.

Hutchinson County officials say that the Czar Fire reached 64.4 acres and as of 4 pm on April 4th, it is 100% contained.

Firefighters are still patrolling the area and say some vegetation continues to burn, but it is not a threat to containment.
