Super Bowl Sunday is coming up, and the Texas Department of Transportation urges fans to plan a sober ride for game-day.

As fans travel to watch parties or other activities to for the Super Bowl that involve alcohol, it is important that they find safe ways to get to and from.

During the 2018 Super Bowl weekend, there were 258 alcohol-related crashes in Texas alone. Eight people were killed and 21 were seriously injured.

TxDOT Executive Director James Bass says, “Super Bowl weekend is a potentially dangerous time for alcohol-related crashes. With so many transportation options available, there is absolutely no excuse to drink and drive. If you plan to drink alcohol, plan ahead for a sober ride. It’s a game plan that could save a life.”
