TxDOT Celebrates 20 Years of “Click It or Ticket”

The Texas Department of Transportation celebrated the 20th anniversary of their “Click It or Ticket” campaign.

The group held a series of events across the state, including here in Amarillo at the Texas Travel Information Center.

Since the program was launched in 2002 it is estimated to have saved 6,972 lives, prevented 120,000 injuries and saved over $20 billion in related economic costs.

“Click It or Ticket” is part of a larger initiative called #EndTheStreakTX that asks all Texans to commit to driving safely to end the streak of daily deaths on our roadways.

The last time the state of Texas went at least one day without having a death on roadways was November 7th, 2000.
