TxDOT Archeologists To Hold Archeology Fair At Palo Duro Canyon State Park

The public is invited to attend an Archeology Fair Thursday, June 13^th from 4-8 pm at Palo Duro Canyon.

The Texas Department of Transportation archeologist will be in the canyon from June 8^th -15^th for a week-long field investigation during the Texas Archeological Society Annual Field School.

This work is regulated by federal laws to ensure the story and artifacts of these places are preserved in the public’s interest.

Palo Duro State Park has several archeological sites that are protected by law which allows TxDOT to lead a group to survey and excavation to learn more about one of these sites.
