The Texas Department of Transportation is alerting driver of a change in traffic patterns as the reconstruction of the Interstate 27 bridges at State Loop 335 (Hollywood Road) progresses.

Starting Wednesday Once the contractor on this project, Allen Butler Construction, Inc., completes striping work, drivers traveling northbound on I-27 should expect the following:

Traffic will be redirected onto the new bridge at approximately Noon, Wednesday, April 17.

At that same time, the exits for Hollywood Road and Bell Street from I-27 northbound will close.

Traffic needing to access Hollywood Road will exit Sundown Lane.

From this point forward, Sundown Lane and Hollywood Road will share the same exit.

The Bell Street exit from I-27 northbound will remain closed until at least late fall 2019.

Traffic needing to access Bell Street can exit Sundown Lane or continue north to the Western/Hillside exit and turn around.

Traffic traveling northbound on I-27 on the new bridge will still be reduced to one lane while reconstruction of the northbound bridge takes place. Demolition of that bridge is anticipated to begin Monday. While this work takes place, Hollywood Road will be closed under the interstate. Traffic needing to access to Hollywood Road should follow the posted detours. Drivers should plan extra time into their commutes and find alternate routes, if possible.
