Two Overnight Fires Keep AFD Busy

The Amarillo Fire Department had to work two fires, last night.

The first one was a structure fire in the 1200 block of South Cleveland Street at 11:50 p.m. Tuesday

On arrival fire crews found fire showing from the rear corner of the small residential building.

They were able to get the blaze under control quickly, and no injuries were reported. The Fire Marshal is still investigating.

The second blaze happened at the 3;46 Wednesday morning in the 3600 Hundred block of Southeast 11th. Once crews arrived there, they spotted a large shed in the rear of a building along with a fence, and a power pole with many transformers attached.

By it being an electrical fire, fire righters had to use extreme caution in putting it out. Service was knocked out from Southeast Third Street to I-40. Again, no injuries were reported.

The Fire Marshal’s Office say the fire ther is undetermined because of there being more than one source of possible ignition.
