UPDATE: Two Month Old In Multiple Vehicle Accident Dies From Injuries

The two-month-old child who was hurt in a car wreck on Sunday has died at a hospital in Lubbock.

Amarillo police drove up on the accident in the 3300 blocks of South I-27 at 10:50 am.

A Ford Taurus, driven by a 21-year-old female stopped in the left lane due to a flat tire.

The Ford was rear-ended by Hyundai Sante Fe driven by a 28-year-old female.

The Hyundai spun after the collision and was then struck head-on by a Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 24-year-old female.

A 2-month-old child in the Taurus was taken to a local area hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Another small child and a 19-year-old male from the Ford were taken to a local area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the Santa Fe and three children were taken to a local area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the Silverado and passenger, a 23-year-old male, were uninjured.

The Southbound lanes were closed to through traffic as the scene was being cleared, and the APD Traffic Investigation Unit investigated the accident.
