Tuesday Sports Update – Red Sox Shutout Rangers

(Boston, MA) — J.D. Martinez blasted a three-run shot in the eighth to put the finishing touches on the Red Sox 5-0 win over the Rangers at Fenway Park. Steve Pearce hit a two-run homer in the opening frame to put Boston ahead 2-0. Eduardo Rodriguez and four relievers combined on the shutout. Rodriguez ran his record to 11-and-3 in the opener of the three-game series. Mike Minor was tagged with the loss as Texas fell to 2-and-6 in its last eight. The Sox have won seven straight to push them to 63-and-29.

Klutch Sports Group tweeted out a picture with Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka, LeBron and his agent Rich Paul with the contract on Monday.

(Las Vegas, NV) — Mavericks first round pick Luka Doncic is officially under contract. The Mavs announced last night that he has signed his rookie deal. Dallas selected the EuroLeague MVP third overall in last month’s draft.

Mavs Rout Warriors

(Las Vegas, NV) — The Mavericks outscored the Warriors by 16 in the third quarter as they cruised to a 91-71 win in Summer League action in Las Vegas. Phil Greene scored 16 points and Jalen Brunson netted nine for Dallas, which finished 2-and-1 in preliminary round play. The Mavs will now be seeded in a tournament, which begins tomorrow.

Rockets Cruise Past Clippers In Summer League

(Las Vegas, NV) — The Rockets cruised past the Clippers 104-90 in Summer League action last night in Las Vegas. De’Anthony Melton led the way with 26 points in the winning effort. Houston heads into the tournament portion of the Summer League at 3-and-0.

Cowboys Cornerback Marquez White Indicted

(Plano, TX) — Dallas Cowboys Cornerback Marquez White is indicted on a felony aggravated assault charge related to a road-rage incident. Plano police initially cited White for a misdemeanor when the incident occurred in October of last year. A grand jury later upgraded the charge to a felony. White claims an aggressive driver yelled racial slurs at him and followed him closely on the Dallas North Tollway, then followed him home and called the cops. White says he just showed the man his gun. The other driver says White pointed the gun at him.

Competitors Arriving For Sailing Championship Next Week

(Corpus Christi, TX) — Dozens of the nearly 400 competitors in next week’s Youth Sailing World Championships have already arrived in Corpus Christi. All entrants are required to be environmentally conscious, so the week started off with a cleanup at McGee Beach on Sunday morning. Registration is Saturday morning, and opening ceremonies are Sunday evening. The races start next Monday, July 16th, and continue through Friday of next week. A total of 60 countries are represented in the Youth Sailing World Championships.
