Rangers Trade Kela To Pirates

(Phoenix, AZ) — Rangers reliever Keone Kela is on the move. Texas traded the right-hander to the Pittsburgh Pirates for a pair of minor league prospects. Kela has a 3.44 ERA with 44 strikeouts in 36-and-two-thirds innings of work this season.

Astros Lose Again, Blanked In Seattle

(Seattle, WA) — The Astros lost their fifth straight when they were shutout 2-0 by the Mariners in Seattle. Houston’s lead is down to three games over Seattle in the AL West. Gerrit Cole retired the first 12 Seattle batters he faced, but surrendered a two-run double in the sixth to Nelson Cruz to take the loss. Houston managed just four singles and struck out 10 times.

Astros Obtain Osuna From Jays

(Seattle, WA) — The Astros have acquired controversial Blue Jays closer Roberto Osuna in a trade. Osuna will finish a 75-game suspension on Sunday. He is facing domestic assault charges in Canada for alleged crimes against his girlfriend in May. Osuna logged 104 saves for Toronto before the arrest. The Astros sent former closer Ken Giles and right-handers Hector Perez and David Paulino to the Jays.

Cowboys Back At It Today

Rockets Close to Adding Anthony

(Houston, TX) — The Houston Rockets are one step closer to acquiring Carmelo Anthony. The Atlanta Hawks bought out Anthony’s contract yesterday and will waive the 10-time All-Star. After 48 hours to clear waivers, Anthony plans to sign a two million, four hundred thousand dollar contract with the Rockets. That is the minimum contract for a veteran.

NMSU Aggies Head Football Coach Signs On For Another 4 Years

(Las Cruces, NM) — The New Mexico State Aggies head football coach is on board for at least another four years. The Aggies report coach Doug Martin has signed a new four year contract to coach the team through 2021. Coach Martin is credited with bringing the Aggies into the school’s first post-season bowl appearance in 57 years. That game ended with a NMSU 26-20 overtime victory over Utah State in the 2017 NOVA Home Loans Arizona Bowl in Tucson.
