Nationals’ Harper Wins HR Derby
(Washington, DC) — Hometown hero Bryce Harper is the 2018 Home Run Derby champion. The Nationals outfielder beat Cubs outfielder Kyle Schwarber 19-18 in the final to claim the title. Harper beat the Dodgers’ Max Muncy 13-12 in the semifinals, while Schwarber edged the Phillies’ Rhys Hoskins 21-20 in the other semi. Harper beat the Braves’ Freddie Freeman 13-12 in the first round, while Muncy bested the Cubs’ Javier Baez 17-16, Schwarber topped the Astros’ Alex Bregman 16-15 and Hoskins outslugged the Brewers’ Jesus Aguilar 17-12.
2018 MLB All-Star Game Tonight
(Washington, DC) — The 2018 MLB All-Star Game is tonight at Nationals Park in Washington, DC. Nationals ace Max Scherzer gets the start for the National League opposite Boston ace Chris Sale for the American League. It’s the fifth time the game is being played in Washington. Astros Well Represented in Tonight’s ASG

Jose Altuve will start at second base for the American League, while Alex Bregman and outfielder George Springer are reserves. Charlie Morton and Gerrit Cole will be pitchers for the AL. Justin Verlander was also named to the ASG but will be inactive.
Choo In All-Star Game Tonight
(Washington, DC) — Shin-Soo Choo will represent the Texas Rangers on the American League squad tonight for the All-Star Game in D.C. Choo is the third player from South Korea and the first position player to be selected to the All-Star Game. Choo has reached base in 51 consecutive games, the longest streak in the majors this season. He has hit .337 with a .469 on-base percentage during the streak, drawing 47 walks.
San Antonio, Houston To Host NCAA Men’s Final Four
(Undated) — The Men’s Final Four basketball tournament is coming back to San Antonio. The NCAA announced on Monday that San Antonio will host the event in 2025, while Houston will do the honors in 2023. Both cities made pitches for another Final Four last week. The Alamo City hosted this year’s Final Four, while Houston had it in 2016. San Antonio beat out bids from North Texas, Los Angeles and Detroit.
