TTUSVM Educational Center

A cooperative venue to be occupied by the new Hereford Veterinary Clinic and the Texas Tech University School of Veterinary Medicine is scheduled to open next year.

The 18,000-square-foot facility will also serve as an educational center for TTUSVM students.

Primarily, fourth-year students will receive hands-on learning experience specifically working with beef cattle.

Associate Dean of Clinical Programs at Texas Tech University School of Veterinary Medicine, Britt Conklin, says this should be a win-win for Hereford as well as students.

The number of feedlots in the area will be able to provide animal resources for students to work on. It is what’s going to actually drive the functionality of the program,

Students will spend four weeks at a time working on surgeries, medical cases, and diagnostic skills.

Participants in the program will help with the workload and provide more resources for the clinic.
