The trial of former sunray chief of police Timothy Dean continued in Sodus New York Tuesday.

Charlene Childers, dean’s wife, took the stand to testify against her husband.

She previously pled guilty to manslaughter in the deaths of her ex-boyfriend, Joshua Niles, and Niles’ fiancĂ©e, amber Washburn.

In her testimony, Childers said her dean plotted to kill Niles after she lost custody of her children and that the former sunrays police chief stole one of his department’s guns and used it to kill Niles and Washburn.

Childers agreed to testify against dean in exchange for a shorter sentence of 28 years in prison, instead of 40 years.

Dean is charged with first and second-degree murder, as well as criminal possession of a weapon.

A third suspect, a former sunray police officer Bron Bohlar also entered a plea of guilty in the case. He and Childers are due to be sentenced next month in separate hearings.
