Tragic Rollover Claims Teen’s Life

A teenager has lost her life after a single-vehicle rollover Saturday afternoon.

The Department of Public Safety states that the crash took place one mile west of Panhandle at 3:00 pm

A 14-year-old girl from Panhandle was driving a Ford F350 eastbound on County Road 11 at a high rate of speed when it began to fishtail causing the driver to lose control.

The truck spun around and skidded off the road into a ditch causing it to roll several times.

The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the truck and was pronounced deceased by Carson County Justice of the Peace, Jean Hardman.

A 14-year-old female passenger from Pampa was treated on scene and released to a guardian.

DPS  Sergeant Cindy Barkley says that this crash remains under investigation and that information may change, be corrected, or added based on the investigators’ findings.
