Timothy Dean Found Guilty

Former Sunray Police Chief Timothy Dean was found guilty by a jury on Friday afternoon.

The jury deliberated and found Dean guilty of First Degree Murder, Second Degree Murder, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon.

In October of 2018 Dean shot and killed his wife’s ex-partner, Joshua Niles and Amber Washburn over a child custody dispute.

Dean’s wife and co-defendant, Charlene Childers plead guilty to conspiracy to commit murder.

Childers testified in court that she and Dean planned the murder so that they could get her children back from Niles.
