Texas took the rubber match in the three-game series. The Rangers are off tonight before they host the White Sox tomorrow.

Bregman, Astros Stun Blue Jays

(Houston, TX) — Alex Bregman drilled the walk-off, two-run homer in the ninth inning as the Astros stunned the Blue Jays 7-6 in Houston. The ‘Stros gave up five runs in the first inning, but held on to take the rubber match at home. Marwin Gonzalez homered as well for Houston, which has a league-high 54 wins.

(Houston, TX) — Astros shortstop Carlos Correa is day-to-day as he deals with back stiffness. He has missed the past two games for Houston. Manager A.J. Hinch says they want to be really careful with Correa. The 2015 AL Rookie of the Year is batting .268 this season with 13 home runs.

Report: Spurs, Lakers Talking Kawhi Trade

(Los Angeles, CA) — The Spurs are willing to do business with the Lakers after all. ESPN reports the two sides are talking about a potential trade for All-Star forward Kawhi [[ kuh-WHY ]] Leonard. Multiple reports last week stated the Spurs were unwilling to trade with the Lakers. Leonard has one year left on his contract and wants out of San Antonio, preferring a trade to his hometown Lakers.

Spurs Coach Becky Hammon Promoted

(San Antonio, TX) — Assistant coach Becky Hammon is getting a promotion with the Spurs. San Antonio announced that Hammon is going to take the spot vacated by James Borrego. Borrego was named head coach of the Charlotte Hornets last month. Hammon has been on Gregg Popovich’s coaching staff since 2014.

Report: Mavericks Try To Acquire Jordan

(Undated) — DeAndre Jordan might end up joining the Mavericks after all. The “New York Times” reports Dallas is trying to complete a deal for Jordan this week. It was three years ago when Jordan agreed to join the Mavs during free agency, but changed his mind the last second and re-signed with the Clippers. LA gave itself flexibility to deal its starting center when they acquired Marcin Gortat from the Wizards for Austin Rivers. Jordan can either become an unrestricted free agent or pick up the final year of the four-year deal he signed with the Clippers.

Rockets Pick Up D’Antoni’s Contract Option

(Houston, TX) — The Rockets are picking up the contract option for head coach Mike D’Antoni. His four-year contract had an option for the 2019-2020 season, and the franchise decided to exercise it. D’Antoni guided the Rockets to the league’s best regular season record this past season and was fifth in Coach of the Year voting.
