Hopkins Denies Quarrel With O’Brien

(Houston, TX) — Wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins denies a splintered relationship with Texans head coach Bill O’Brien spearheaded him bring traded to Arizona. Hopkins refuted Michael Irvin comments on ESPN there was bad blood between the Pro Bowl wide receiver and O’Brien, who is also the Houston GM. Texans Bringing Back CB Hargreaves

(Houston, TX) — Vernon Hargreaves is returning to the Texans, who released him last month. The cornerback agreed to a one-year deal. The Texans could have retained Hargreaves under his fifth-year option for a pricey 9.6-million dollars. The Texans also re-signed cornerback Bradley Roby, who agreed to a 36-million dollar, three-year extension. They also kept corner Phillip Gaines, who accepted a one-year contract for the NFL veteran minimum.

Texans Allowing OL Johnson To Walk

(Houston, TX) — The Texans did not put a tender on offensive tackle Roderick Johnson, allowing him to become an unrestricted free agent. He appeared in all 16 games last season, starting three at right tackle.

Jaguars Trading Foles To Bears

Reds Staff Member Positive For COVID-19

(Cincinnati, OH) — The Cincinnati Reds say a staff member who was in Arizona during spring training is positive for COVID-19. The Reds say anyone who was in contact with the staffer is being tested and is in self-isolation. The staff member was at the Goodyear complex between February 29th and the 14th.

Baylor’s Drew Is Naismith Coaching Finalist

(Waco, TX) — Baylor’s Scott Drew is among the four finalists for the Werner Ladder Naismith Award, which is given to the season’s best Division-One basketball coach. He coached the Bears to a 26-and-4 record and a number-five ranking in the final Coaches Poll before the post-season was cancelled because of coronavirus concerns.
