Thursday Sports Update – Astros Take Rangers In Extra Innings

(Arlington, TX) — The Astros erased a four-run deficit as they rallied past the Rangers 5-4 in 10 innings from Arlington. Evan Gattis plated the go-ahead run on a sac-fly in the 10th. Josh Reddick drilled a two-run homer, and Yuli Gurriel tied it with a solo shot in the fifth. Collin McHugh pitched three innings of shutout relief to earn the win. Chris Martin gave up the losing run for Texas. Jurickson Profar singled in a run and scored twice. Shin-Soo Choo homered in defeat and extended his on-base streak to 44 games. Report: Rockets Will Match Any Offer For Capela

Rousey To Be Inducted To UFC Hall of Fame

(Las Vegas, NV) — Mixed martial artist Ronda Rousey will be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame today at a ceremony in Las Vegas. She’s the first woman to received the honor. She holds a record for winning six consecutive title defenses. Rousey said it was an immense honor and she hopes she’s the first of many women inducted to the hall of fame.

Rice And TSU Plan Series Of Football Games Starting In 2021

(Houston, TX) — The Rice Owls and the Texas Southern Tigers are planning ahead for a series of football games starting three years from now. Rice will host TSU in the fall of 2021 for the first football game ever between the two schools. The Owls are also scheduled to play UH and UT in 2021, along with Oklahoma State in Stillwater. Rice hosts Prairie View on August 25th to open the 2018 season. TSU’s season kicks off September 1st at home against UT Permian Basin.
