The Rise in Colorectal Cancer in the Community

The month of March is seen as National Colon Cancer Awareness Month, with more discussions needing to be had regarding how deadly this issue is in our country.

The American Cancer Society projects that more men and women will die due to this cancer in 2023, with researchers finding that number to be over 52-thousand.

In some cases, one would think that this disease is still just prevalent within older men and women, but Dr. Izi Obokhare from Texas Tech Physicians says otherwise as of recently.

Dr. Obokhare goes on to talk about the various symptoms that come with colorectal cancer.

Dr. Obokhare as well as many others within the Get F.I.T. to Stay Fit Program at Texas Tech Physicians are dedicated and passionate about this issue. So much so, that some interesting events are coming up to further spread awareness as well as hoping to get people screened.

Also, be sure to visit the Kendra Scott store within Westgate Mall on March 3rd from 5-7 pm, where 20 percent of purchases made there will benefit the program as well.
