The Amarillo Police Department Releases The 2018 Racial Profiling Report

The Texas Code of Criminal Procedure 2.132 requires law enforcement agencies in Texas to adopt written policy to prohibit officers from engaging in racial profiling.

The Amarillo Police Department completed its 2018 Racial Profiling Report and you can find it here.

This law also offers a process in which individuals can file complaints if they believe a peace officer engaged in racial profiling or biased based action.

The APD Racial Profiling Report, as well as other law enforcement agencies’ reports, were submitted to the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement.

The details of these reports are put together to enhance minority community outreach and recruiting.
