The activist athlete is being named as Sports Illustrated’s 2020 Sportsperson of the Year. The magazine is naming five athletes who they say were champions on and off the field.

Others being named are U.S. Open tennis champion Naomi Osaka, WNBA champion Breanna Stewart and Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, Mahomes’ teammate on the Chiefs.
