Texas Tech’s Health Science Center Named a Carnegie Special Focus University

Texas Tech’s Health Science Center has been named among the top tier institutions in the country.

Announced on Wednesday May 12th, the college has been selected as a Carnegie Classification ® of Institutions of Higher Education, Special Focus Four-Year Research Institution.

To qualify for this distinction, universities must have a combination of $5 million dollars in spent funds, and have conferred 20 doctoral degrees, with Texas Tech exceeding those funds and conferring 55 doctorates in the 2021 academic year.
