Texas Tech School of Veterinary Medicine Using Partnership with Amarillo to Set Students Up For Success
The City of Amarillo has partnered with the Texas Tech University School of Veterinary Medicine to offer a unique experience for both students and the community.
Third and fourth-year students in the school are working with the city as well as Amarillo Animal Management and Welfare to provide spaying and neutering to the local animal population.
Along with helping to control the amount of animals that are in shelters or strays, the experience provides excellent hands-on training for future veterinarians.
Second-year Red Raider Ashleigh Patridge talked about the benefits the program offers to her and her classmates as well as what exactly it allows them to do.
Working with pets may not always be the easiest thing, but Ashleigh also says these experiences will better help them when it comes to dealing with adversity in their careers.
