Texas Sales Tax Holiday This Weekend

This weekend is the state’s Sales Tax Holiday, and the Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar is reminding people that certain items for emergency preparation supplies are affected.

The holiday goes into effect at 12:01 a.m on Saturday and ends on Midnight, April 25.

The Comptrollers office estimates that shoppers will save more than 1 point 5 million dollars in state and local sales tax.

Purchases that do not fall under the sales tax holiday are items like automobile batteries, chainsaws, tents, and extension ladders.

A list of emergency supplies that can be bought tax-free can be found on the Texas Comptrollers website
