Texas Governor Greg Abbott Modifies Recent Executive Order

Texas Governor Greg Abbott is modifying his recent executive order related to the Covid-19 pandemic to eliminate going to jail as punishment for violating them.

The Governor says “Throwing Texans in jail who have had their businesses shut down through no fault of their own is non-nonsensical and he will not allow it to happen.

Abbott’s statement is retroactive to April 2nd and supersedes local directives.

He maintains as some county judges are advocating to release hardened criminals from jail to prevent the spread of the disease, it’s absurd to have business owners take their place.
