“Ten Tall Texans” Storytelling at WT

West Texas A&M University is hosting a fun event to share Texas in history with fun stories.

The Center for the Study of the American West is hosting author James L. Haley and sharing the history of “Ten Tall Texans You’ve Probably Never Heard Of.”

These stories are funny and fascinating and are a way of teaching Texas history.

The tales will focus on little-known historical figures such as Benjamin Lundy, “80 John” Wallace, and the wife of the first Texas governor Fanny Henderson.

Haley has written over 20 books of history and fiction, including nonfiction tellings of the American West, Native Americana, a biography of Sam Houston, and state histories of Texas and Hawaii.

The event will begin at 7 pm in the Sybil B. Harrington Fine Arts Complex Recital Hall, and wouldn’t be possible without help from Amarillo National Bank.
