Teachers on the Rise is Back Rewarding Awesome Teachers!

With another school year started, it is time once again to reward those who give so much to leave an impact on the next generation. 

Teachers on the Rise is a program that honors teachers by their students for excellence in and out of the classroom. 

Students can nominate their teachers by writing an essay about how they were impacted positively by a teacher. 

September’s winner for middle school was from Bonham Middle School, Shanna Swicegood.

She was overjoyed at hearing her student read his essay about how she was and continues to be a positive influence on him. 

Shanna received a gift basket from Mrs. Bairds, as well as a gift card to United. 

The other winners from September were Katy Escobedo from George Washington Carver Early Childhood Academy and Tammi Lewis from Clarendon High School.
